About — La Historia

I wasted a year of talent. On purpose. Then I stopped.

From July 14, 2008 to July 28, 2009, Wasted Talent was a daily culture-curation blog out of Buenos Aires — música, diseño, arte, cine, fashion, internet, lo bizarro, and whatever else fit in between. One post a day, every day, for 364 days. Then a post called "Farewell," and that was it. Not abandoned — finished.

The tagline back then was "We waste our talent on you." It was a joke about spending real effort on something for no reason except that it mattered to us. A year of daily posts proved the joke wrong: the "wasted" effort was actually a body of work, and a point of view.

In 2026, "we" is "I." My partner in the original project isn't part of this chapter — what we made together is real history, and it's still here in the archive. But the sequel is solo: one person, the same taste, now also a business. Apparel, prints from a personal photo archive, and a daily culture find that picks up roughly where the old one left off.

The joke was always that the talent was wasted. The 2026 version is the honest follow-up: turns out it wasn't wasted, it was just unpaid. Here's what happens when that changes.

The Mark — Three Versions

2008 → 2009 → 2026

Wasted Talent logo V1, 2008 — glossy black badge with red marker scrawl

V1 — 2008. Glossy black badge, white block caps, a red marker scrawl across the top. Sticker culture, DIY, MySpace-era.

Wasted Talent logo V2, 2009 — geometric Art-Deco wordmark with hot-pink dot

V2 — 2009. Geometric Art-Deco wordmark, monochrome, one hot-pink dot. The taste the blog was building, made visible.

WASTED TALENT

V3 — 2026. Solid meets hollow. The pink dot becomes a structural rule. The argument between raw and refined stays open.
