All right, this is not about that great game that we all used to play on the Commodore 64 or 128. This is about the great Director/Writer/Actor Stephen Chow. He started his career as back in 1988 but really got the attention of the western world with his movie Shaolin Soccer that at the time became the highest grossing domestic movie in Honk Kong only to be beaten by his latest movie Kung Fu Hustle.
Shaolin Soccer is a great movie to watch for all football and Captain Tsubasa (para los argentos “Supercampeones’) fanatics. Chow plays homeless that tries to apply Kung Fu to all aspects of life when he comes across a coach that is trying to put together a soccer team. Chow starts recruiting his old classmates and friends to create a team filled with Kung Fu special talents. The movie is hilarious to say the least. His other movie Kung Fu Hustle kind of follows the same storyline. Chow plays a poor guy that dreams of joining the Chinese Mafia “The Axe” but he has a good heart and can’t do evil. That causes him to get into trouble with the Mafia. Once again the movie is filled with comic-type characters that make the movie excellent.
