  • Domino Dancing

    (all day, all day) domino dancing

    On November 14th it was Domino Day and they broke the Guinness record for toppling dominoes. Domino Day is a world record attempt for the highest number of toppling domino stones, organized each year by Endemol Netherlands. Together with Robin Paul Weijers, also known as Mr. Domino, parties team up to set a new world record.

    But who started this phenomenon? It was Robert Speca, also knows as Domino Wizard. Back in 1974 he set the first world record for 11,111 pieces. It was the beginning of a career for Mr. Speca but also of a really bizarre movement, that i have to admit it always captivated me. Robert Speca held the record 5 times and had a couple of cool hits, here is his first TV appeareance with Johny Carson, where he did used 7,000 domino pieces.

    The movement spanned across every continent and became one of the most popular categories in record breaking. The first Domino Day record breaking happened in 1998. Here is the winner:
