Yesterday in New York, Lladró and the renowned designer Jaime Hayon, artistic advisor of the brand, presented the The Fantasy, one of the most magic

    al and surprising Lladró collections.

The perfect balance between expression and function is ushered in by the new Lladró The Fantasy collection. The original pieces created by Jaime Hayón fill up with color in a fantasy-oriented reinterpretation of the company’s classic themes. Inspired by themes like love, family, childhood, or the magic of the circus, these creations are, for Hayon, a “positive contamination” from his world to that of Lladró. Thus, some of The Fantasy creations are based on icons in his career, such as the original Cactus with which the designer surprised the world in 2003, after his exhibition at the David Gill Gallery in London; and the Green Chicken, created by Hayon for the exhibit Contrast and Contradictions: Chapter 1- Crossovers// Beyond Art and Design.

In keeping with Hayon’s surprise effect, Lladró enhances his creative capacity through the use of red, blue and turquoise shades especially created for the collection. The eight-sided pedestals and the candles for his candle-holders are also done in these vivid colors

to highlight their decorative potential. Intense shades even color the shoes of his principal character, The Lover– a reproduction of the shoes designed by Hayon for the Majorcan company Camper. Thus, it is possible to talk about a fusion between the maximum expression of Lladró´s art and the touches of fantasy proper to the artist. In these creations, Hayon reveals his admiration for the infinite possibilities of Lladró porcelain. A fantasy series in which the expressivity of décor acquires more force than ever.

The shared drive to innovate has encouraged Lladró and Jaime Hayon to further strengthen a relationship which began in 2005 and consolidated with his appointment as the brand´s artistic advisor
