So the post that Martin did yesterday inspired me to do this one. In 1976 Claude Lelouch filmed this video. It was an August early morning and he drove from Porte Dauphine to Sacre-Coeur in 8 and half minutes. Running 16 redlights and going as fast as 200 kilometers per hour in certain parts.
The video became an instant classic among auto enthusiast since nobody knew what car it was or who was the driver that performed such expectational driving.
For many years it was believed that the car used was a Ferrari 250GTB because of the sound of the engine and the clutching. Claude never confirmed or denied the rumor as he owned such Ferrari. Every time a 250 GTB went on sale a lot of people thought that it was the one on the film.
Finally a couple of years ago a DVD was released with a re-mastered version of the film that included a making of and he revealed that the car used was a Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9 which he also owned. He also admitted that the soundtrack is in fact his Ferrari 250GTB.
