A couple of days ago I did a post about Marc Bolan and how he started Glam Rock. As any other wave of new music a lot of posers appeared. They wanted to be part of the movement so they could take advantage of it. Those posers where dubbed by the rest as “Fake Glam”.
Before I continue on my series of Glam Rock and some of their other great performers, I want to share with all of you the fakers.
The first one and most notoriuos is Sir Elton John with his 1972 single “Rocket Man”.

In 1973 he did it again with his song “Crocodile Rock”

We all know that Sir Elton John then discovered his style, maybe while experimenting with Glam Rock (get it? get it?) but still at the time POSER!
Another big name is Jeff Beck. You know 14th best guitarist of all time according to Rolling Stone Magazine, also POSER with his song “Hi Ho Silver Lining”

By 1974 Glam Rock was at its pinnacle and fakers where appearing left and right. After these lines are a bunch of artists that where not successful enough or good enough to find their own voice.
