Unnecessary violence but fun!

Happy Tree Friends is a Flash cartoon series created by Kenn Navarro, Aubrey Ankrum and Rhode Montijo and it has become a cult. The show debuted in 2000.
The show seems very cute but is extremely violent, with nearly every episode featuring blood, gore and extremely painful, bloody and gruesome deaths.
While the violence of these deaths is comparable to that of The Itchy & Scratchy Show, the portrayal of death in Happy Tree Friends is usually more graphic and anatomically correct, depicting bloodshed and dismemberment in more vivid and often exaggerated detail.
There are about 20 characters overall in the series:

  • Cuddles is a yellow male rabbit with pinkish cheeks who inexplicably wears pink rabbit slippers. Cuddles is one of the four primary characters in the series. Like Giggles, Toothy and Lumpy, he appears in many of the advertisements.
  • Giggles is a pink female chipmunk who has a white diamond-shaped marking, a white oval pouch, and wears a big red bow on her head. Giggles is one of the four primary characters in the series. Like Cuddles, Toothy and Lumpy, she appears in many of the advertisements.
  • Toothy is a purple male Beaver with very large gapped teeth (hence his name) and freckles. Toothy is one of the four primary characters in the series. Like Cuddles, Giggles and Lumpy, he appears in many of the advertisements.
  • Lumpy is a blue male moose with clean teeth pronging out of his mouth, bright disorbited eyes and mismatched antlers. Lumpy is one of the four primary characters in the series. Like Cuddles, Giggles, and Toothy, he appears in many of the advertisements.
